Scrap Heap Challenge

Okay, this isn't really about a challenge...just a personal challenge that I am facing. And before you get all worried for me, I'm talking about fabric here, it's not that serious.

This weekend I decided to go through my scrap fabric to weed out the really small and old stuff that I know I'll never use. I keep my scraps organized in plastic shoe boxes from The Container Store. It works well for me and I've been doing it this way for years. The problem is, after a while, you just get too many of one color to fit in the box. The good part is that every now & then you just have to go through them and get rid of some.

These bits come in every size from a few inches to a yard. Here's the challenge...what do I do with them?? There's a place near me called Creation Station that will take donations, but only the bigger pieces.  I'm considering listing packs of the smaller pieces in my shop for not much more than the cost of shipping. What do you think? I'm open to suggestions. Perhaps a giveaway?
At least my scraps are neat and tidy again, and fitting in their color-coded boxes. It's a lucky thing too, or I couldn't have gotten these...

There's always somewhere to put more fabric.

So pretty and organized! I think a giveaway or listing them on Etsy are both good ideas.

You could trade your scraps for larger pieces of fabric. Trade 2 yards of scraps for 1 solid yard of a fabric you want!

sell them on etsy, I'm sure they will sell, I know I am always on the hunt for bargain fabrics and you "old" fabrics might become someones new ones!

Sell them on Etsy. I sometimes buy scrap packs so there must be others too. I look for color specific listings since I am looking to add on red or aqua prints for a scrappy quilt. Good luck!

It's so pretty.

And yes, sell them on Etsy. People buy them all the time.

Etsy and a giveaway both sound like great options. I've bought scrap packs of Etsy before, it's a great way to get a variety of different scraps for those of us still growing our fabric stashes, who don't have a heap of scraps of our own.
I love your scraps, I saw some blue FMF seedlings and started hyperventilating! Yes, I'm a FMF freak, I'll admit it.

I think you should donate the scraps to the local junior high or highschool home ec class. show potential new sewers/quilters how wonderful fabric has become. Or donate to your local shop.
Your stash is BEAUTIFUL!

If you have time, list them on Etsy. I have sold about 60 sets of scrap fabric since August.
